It is also very painful process and is an arduous task for you because you have to regularly take your child to the dentist.
How long does one need to wear braces?
The time required for correcting the problem varies from person from person depending on the severity of the problem. However on an average braces are worn by a person for a period of 1- 3 years. This solves the problem once and for all. After that he has to wear a retainer for a period of six months.
It is imperative that you visit a dentist once a month because he/she will check the position of the braces to see whether they are applying proper tension and pressure on the teeth. You have to do this because if the braces are not in a correct position it will cause more problems.
When it is time to for your braces to be taken out, then your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned. The dentist will take a set of X-rays to check out the position of the teeth and bite impressions to see whether the teeth are straightened.
If you find that your child teeth are not proper, then you consult a dentist and take the requisite steps to fit braces. If you procrastinate then, it will cause a lot of problems in future and shatter the child’s confidence.
