Trapped Debris/Objects Between Teeth
Sometimes, particles and debris will get stuck in between a child’s teeth. The majority of these cases can be taken care of by brushing and flossing your their teeth with care, making sure not to cut the gums. If there is trapped debris that will not come off with floss, do not use a pin or needle. There may be something else going on. Perhaps enamel is breaking down (cavity) and food it getting impacted . Or, it could be a faulty restoration or appliance (filling, crown, space maintainer). In such cases, you should contact your local pediatric dentist to evaluate the reason for the impaction and to find the best solution for your child.
